I’m just going to go out and say it: If Gino Ianucci hadn’t come sooner, we’d all be praising Joey Pepper instead.

Joey’s from the East Coast. Joey rode for Axion. Joey doesn’t swing his arms. Joey’s got mad tech skills but still loves a good backside lipslide. See people? Joey hits a lot of the same benchmarks Gino set but for some reason, people forget.

Let me remind you just how tech Joey pepper can get. In this Ryde Or Die Vol. 1 part, Joey does a 360 flip frontside tailslide, a backside nollie heelflip backside tailslide and a fakie ollie switch frontside salad grind – because that it way too tweaked to be a fakie nosegrind – and he follows it up with a sweet halfcab flip.

Most people remember Joey for sliding tall benches and later popping floaty ollies but his trick bag was deep. Deeper than most. He also had consistency and style. A winning combination.
