What’s in a name?

I am currently looking to launch my solo project as a professional creative writer and something is blocking me but it’s not the writing.

In today’s digital age, you need social media to promote yourself and reach the masses. If you want to make money, you need a brand and if you want a brand, you need a name, and if you need a name you had best double check it’s available as a handle on all platforms!

As a creative writer and experience in communications and marketing, I need a name that’s easy to remember and easy to spell. The relativity and wit come second – but as a self-proclaimed creative writer, these must not be ignored.

So, my mental lexicon runs through a long list of possible brand names. Some of them I really like, but unfortunately someone else secured their exclusivity. It reminds me of the devious business of holding website addresses ransom. Not cool.

Here’s a quick run down of some names I won’t be using – and shame on those account holders not putting their handles to good use!

  • wordstobeheard
  • writebrother
  • writebrothers

I have settled for one of the following:

  • creativerighter
